In the community visioning process it was noted that in 2030, our citizens would like greater Coeur d’Alene to be affordable for all income levels, including those with low income, fixed income, young families, and individuals with disabilities. Along with its community partner organizations, CDA 2030 is leading efforts to ensure that planning for new residential developments within the City of Coeur d’Alene provides a mix of different types of housing, including affordable and low- to moderate-income housing. Current efforts include the development of housing profiles that feature average working members of the community and their struggle to afford a home. These profiles will frame the stakeholder conversations around housing and how we can create affordable homes for all members of our community. Collaboration will continue with the City of Coeur d’Alene on Coeur Housing Code for infill housing along with the exploration of funding for the development of Accessory Dwelling Unit designs.
